WAC Golf Championships Decided in Las Vegas, Reno

2009 WAC Men's Champions New Mexico StateRio Secco Golf Club recently hosted the 2009 Club Glove WAC Golf Championships, where New Mexico State successfully defended its men's title. San Jose State won the women's tournament, which was played at Wolf Run Golf Club in Reno.

The Aggies carded a three-round total of 870 to win by one stroke over Fresno State and claim their third WAC title in four year years. New Mexico State senior Travis Reid also won the individual title after shooting a three-under-par 69 in the final round to finish with a seven-under total of 209.

"It was a fight to the end with us and Fresno State," said Scott Lieberwith, Aggies' Head Coach. "They are a great team and it was a battle. I'm really happy and proud of the way we hung in and competed."

At Wolf Run the San Jose State women's team finished 19 strokes ahead of Idaho with a three-round total of 870. Spartans' senior Erica Mostan won the individual title with a two-under-par 214.
