Every year various publications, TV networks and myriad bloggers search America to discover “The Best Place to Live.” The factors that make up the ranking are many: cost of living, school systems, property taxes, climate, and the list goes on. Now th
t they have established where people ought to live, let’s take a look to see where they are moving. The answer – Vegas baby! During the past 10 years or more, the Las Vegas area has consistently ranked near the top of the list in terms of population growth. One only needs to cruise the burgeoning Vegas suburbs to witness the evidence of a mass-migration to Clark County. And, it’s not just high-rollers and retirees that call Vegas home. Families by the score are moving into intimate communities that offer a small-town feel and amenity-rich lifestyles. And that’s the M.O. of Aliante, a master-planned community located in North Las Vegas. Aliante is being developed by North Valley Enterprises, LLC, an affiliate of American Nevada Company and Del Webb Communities, Inc. Aliante reflects the tradition of combining the intimate feel and human-scale quality of a small town with the sophistication of a smart city. The master plan incorporates a wide variety of uses –residential, commercial, recreational and public – arranged by a comprehensive plan designed to maximize values and enhance the lifestyle of its residents.
Risk/reward challenges and landscaping designed to make an aesthetic impact provide for an exciting and well-rounded golf experience. Aliante Golf Club was designed by Scottsdale-based Gary Panks Associates who has designed notable clubs such as the Talon Course at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale Arizona, Interlocken in Broomfield, Colorado and Chaparral Pines in Payson, Arizona, to name a few. Panks has a long-standing reputation for designing golf courses that enhance the environment, create value, and provide an enjoyable experience for golfers. Unique elements are included in the final layout such as a meandering arroyo that comes into play on 14 holes as a hazard, and the water feature on #17. The golf course’s signature hole, the 17th, is a slight dogleg left, par-4 that plays 420 yards from the tips. Water comes into play on both the drive (for long hitters), and the second shot as the water hazard wraps around to the left and back of the green complex. A cascading waterfall frames the left side of the large green, and a unique bunker, that actually sits three to four feet below lake level, is located behind the green. From the tee, golfers must also avoid the distinctive arroyo that meanders down the right side of the hole. The clubhouse, complete with a golf shop, grill, bar and event patio, overlooks the golf course and surrounding Sheep Mountains. The practice facility features an expansive practice tee, putting green, chipping green and practice bunker. |
