Truly worth playing is the Mountain course: the 1st hole is a drivable par-4 from both the blue and black tees which provides a great birdie chance for everyone. The highlight of the Mountain course is surely the third hole, which plays 653 yards from the silver tees making it the longest par-5 in the state of Nevada! Even though it plays downhill and occasionally downwind, you’ll still need to hit the drive of your life and probably a sprinkler head to get home in two. The Desert course starts with a dogleg-left par-5 that can be reached in two by the longer hitters. After the challenging downhill par-3 seventh hole, the Desert nine finishes with two strong par-4’s with the approach shot on the easier ninth hole requiring golfers to carry the edge of a lake fronting the spacious clubhouse. The Valley course is the shorter of the three courses and starts with a gentle, par-5 with a large green sloping from back to front. Things change quickly as you tee it up on the short par-3 second hole. Be sure to check for any breeze since there is water the entire left-side of the hole but a generous bailout area short right. The finishing hole on Valley is a par-4 that flows from left to right and uphill. Your approach shot must flirt with the lake that guards the green on the Desert’s ninth hole.

The allure and challenge of the course itself is one perk, but the amenities and privileges a golfer receives at Silverstone is another.
