Nick Becker and Kevin Tassistro, both Las Vegas residents, edged out the team of Kenny Ebalo and Eric Nilsson on the second sudden-death playoff hole to take top honors in the 2008 Cleveland Golf Pro-Scratch at Angel
Park Golf Club, a two-day competitive golf event held on July 20 and 21. For their efforts, Becker, the professional on the team, earned $2,500 and Tassistro earned $750 in Angel Park gift certificates.
At the end of regulation play (two rounds of one best ball of two), both teams carded a 13-under-par 129 (Becker/Tassistro shot 64, 65 and Ebalo/Nilsson shot 63, 66).
"We were actually one shot out of the lead after the first day," said Becker. "Fortunately, we were able to stay pretty consistent and our 6-under, 65 on the second day was good enough to send us into a playoff - eventually prevailing with a birdie on the second hole."

Aliante
Golf Club will offer a premium rental set of golf clubs free of charge to air travelers. The special promotion, running now until August 31, 2008, is in response to a new policy soon to be adopted by most airlines that will charge passengers for checking luggage.
Those traveling golfers who wish to take advantage of the offer are only required to present their airline ticket at check in and pay the posted green fee. They can then choose from a premium set of Callaway or Cleveland golf clubs.
"I think we are all feeling the crunch from higher fuel costs and the
airlines charging to check luggage is an example of how the added
expense has rippled through the economy," said Randy Weigman, General
Manager of Aliante Golf Club.

ANGEL PARK AND THE LEGACY GOLF CLUBS ADD VALUE TO GROUP PACKAGES
Angel
Park Golf Club and The
Legacy Golf Club now offer a new incentive for planning group outings at their facilities with the introduction of a new group golf amenity - motor coach and shuttle bus transportation service from The Strip to the course. Aptly named Angel 1 and Angel 2, these vehicles will provide a valuable service, benefiting larger groups, tournaments and outings.
"In a competitive market we are always looking for ways to add value to group outings and events," stated Phil Green, president of OB Sports, the management company at Angel Park and Legacy. "While these vehicles are a very large investment in capital, we feel it will provide us with another innovative way to attract group outings and tournaments to these popular Las Vegas facilities."
